ABOUT THE ARTIST

Currently based in the USA, British-Malaysian artist Farah Winning’s intricate drawings capture the dynamic interplay of energies felt through sensation, vibration, and inner vision.

After completing her Art Foundation at Bournemouth Arts Institute (2004) and earning a BA in Fashion Design from the University of Brighton (2008), Farah initially pursued a career in fashion, beginning with internships at Jonathan Saunders, Oswald Boateng before working at Tom Ford. Her creative journey later pivoted toward entrepreneurship, and a decade of working in advertising temporarily distanced her from her artistic practice.

The return to art came through a parallel journey of holistic healing. Between 2022-2024, Farah trained as a yoga teacher, breathwork facilitator, and holistic lifestyle coach, experiences that profoundly influenced her artistic perspective. This period of deep study and self-introspection rekindled her connection to creating, culminating in her return to full artistic practice in 2025.

Having lived across continents, from London to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and now the Atlantic coastline, Farah’s nomadic lifestyle infuses her work with diverse influences while maintaining a consistent dialogue between structure and freedom, precision and intuition.

"When I draw, I feel deeply connected to nature and the energies within and surrounding me," she notes. “Each piece represents a part of me that has flowed through my body onto paper."

Working primarily with pen on paper, Farah’s work invites viewers into contemplative spaces serving as both visual meditations and sensory portals to connect with the subtle currents and vibrations within and around us all.
